Morphometric analysis of Hirehalla Sub-basin of Malaprabha River, Northern Karnataka using geoinformatics techniques

In the present study, basin morphometry of Hirehalla Sub-basin Bagalkote District, Karnataka was carried out using remote sensing and geoinformatics techniques. Delineation calculation various morphometric parameters sub-basin done in GIS environment. The study categorized into– Linear, Aerial Relief aspects. Result obtained from analysis confirms highest order fifth showing sub-dendritic to dendritic drainage pattern. Values shape parameters- form factor (0.16), elongation ratio (0.45) circulatory (0.38), suggests be elongated shape. Average bifurcation value (Rb=3.34), indicates influence geomorphic features on basin. From values Stream frequency (1.36) density (1.27) it indicates, permeable subsurface low relief. Drainage texture (1.74) is coarse. addition, a ruggedness number resistance erosion.
